G20 Presidency: Mutual Inspiration for Education Recovery

Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Nadiem Anwar Makarim, at the announcement event titled
"Kick Off G-20 on Education and Culture" said this leadership momentum was considered appropriate because at times like this Indonesia could show its character as an extraordinary nation. Regarding the priority agenda in the field of education, Nadiem conveyed that a number of Merdeka Learning breakthroughs would be introduced to the world as good practices and examples to be replicated by other countries in the world. Nadiem hopes that Indonesia can inspire developed and developing countries, as well as gain beneficial partnerships. Nadiem explained, there are four priority agendas in the education sector that will be fought for as the leader of the G-20 Education Working Group, and later during the summit with the education ministers. First, quality universal education. Second, digital technology for education. Third, solidarity and partnership. Fourth, the future of the post-Covid-19 world of work. In the field of culture, said Nadiem, Indonesia invites the world to encourage cultural-based sustainable living practices and the creation of a global consensus to achieve this.
