Jokowi Changes UI Statute, Chancellor Can Become Commissioner of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN)
President Joko Widodo or Jokowi signed Government Regulation Number 75 of 2021 concerning the Statute of the University of Indonesia.
One of the rules that have changed is the provision regarding concurrent university leadership positions in State-Owned Enterprises. Member of the University of Indonesia Board of Trustees from the student element, Ahmad Naufal Hilmy, confirmed the amendment to the Statute. Meanwhile, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Saleh Husin, said they had just received a copy of the PP. "We will continue to study it at the MWA," said Saleh. Article 35. Previously, UI Chancellor Ari Kuncoro was criticized for concurrently serving as deputy chief commissioner of the independent PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. His position was highlighted after the rectorate of UI summoned the UI Student Executive Board due to uploads on social media that dubbed President Joko Widodo as 'The King of Lip Service'.
